Measuring Your Dog

The following information is a helpful guide to measuring your dog to get the best sizing.  As many of our products come from different suppliers, it is important to take note of the size information on each product description.  Please take the following measurements to determine the correct size for your dog.  To get the best measurements make sure your dog is standing.

1. Neck circumference

This measurement is to be taken of the circumference of your dogs neck where the collar would naturally sit.

2. Chest Girth

This measurement is especially important when ordering clothes & harnesses, and is taken at your dogs thickest point which is generally just behind the front legs.  Depending on the size of the item you would like to purchase, we recommend adding on a few extra centimeters to ensure that it is a comfortable fit and not too tight.

3. Back Length

The back length is measured from the base of your dogs neck to the base of the tail.

All dogs, even within same breeds, come in different shapes & sizes so it is important to measure your dog correctly and refer to the measurements given for each individual product.

When measuring for collars it is important to not fit your dog with a super tight collar as this will restrict his/her breathing.  When your dog is wearing the collar, you should be able to fit two flat fingers between your dogs neck and the collar.  Alternatively it should not be too loose that your dog can get out of the collar if on the leash and he/she pulls in the opposite direction suddenly.
